I live in Lockport, NY which is a suburb of Buffalo and Niagara Falls. My husband Steve and I have been married 10 years and are parents to 5 year old twin girls, Ellie & Maddie. Our family is rounded out by Hershey, our german shepherd/lab, and Tallia, our grey tabby cat.
Some of my interests include shopping, food, wine, and travel. I took the vacation of my dreams in April and spent 2 glorious weeks traveling through Italy. I am of Italian descent and it was important to me to see where my great-grandparents lived before coming to America. Steve and I are currently planning a trip to Ireland next September. With a name like Shannon you’d think I would have gone there before traveling to Italy! I also hold a special place in my heart for sun, sand, palm trees, and cool drinks with little umbrellas in them.
Professionally, I hold an AAS Degree in Office Technology from Erie Community College, which I received with Honors. I chose the administrative field as my career and will celebrate 19 years in the profession come January 2008. My work experience includes administrative support for a local banking corporation, a national billboard advertising company, a regional real estate firm, and most recently, a world-wide technology distribution company!
After my daughters were born I hated the fact that I had to leave them to go back to work. As they grew it became increasingly difficult and I decided to cut my hours and work only part-time. In May of this year I saw the story on NBC’s Today Show regarding virtual assistants, and decided to take the plunge and start my own business. In July 2007 The Virtual Vantage was born.
